I am looking for how to's for maintenance stuff. Specifically transmission flush, front and rear differentials and the transfer case. Going to change all my fluids but would like some walk throughs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    It's a Matter of Opinion:

The maintenance you want to perform is all quite straight forward, no magic involved; however, I would recommend against the tranny flush. It's of no real value even if the fluid is a bit contaminated and often causes more problems than it is supposed to prevent.

Drain the tranny and torque converter, clean up the pan magnet, install a good filter (don't leave the old seal in by accident), change the pan gasket to a neoprene item, refill with Mercon V or Chrysler ATF+4 and go.

BTW: When accessing the torque converter drain plug be certain to turn the engine clockwise as viewed from the front, the normal direction of rotation. I use a large flat-blade screwdriver to engage the teeth in the flexplate ring gear to drive the converter around for access to the plug. Replace the plug, 1/8" NPT, using a little thread sealer.

I don't know about the front differential or transfer case, but the rear differential lube should be specified on a tag attached under one of the cover bolts. It should read, "75W140 full synthetic only", or something to that effect, in API service GL5. If the differential is a locker, then some friction modifier is required. The owner's manual should tell the amount and the spec.

You can save a few bucks by using Wal-Mart Supertech 75W140 GL5 full synthetic, ~$10.50 a quart, about half the price of the majors and just as good.

the transfer case has two plugs: one for the drain and one to fill it. unscrew the bottom one and drain the fluid, read owners manual and find out what fluid is recommended, pretty sure its trany fluid. then fill thru the top whole tell fluid comes out (I made a custom funnel to do this)
