Well got the old truck back up a running today. It was the lovely #7 cylinder that was causing havok. Got coil pack boot and plug replaced. It was the original at 111k so why not. Thanks for yalls help.

u can get all 8 for $80

 

yea well hard to get them in the mail on a sunday so i got one at autozone for $50. i will be ordering some tomorrow from ebay so i have backups. the rest are original so might as well get them changed out.

I remember those things! ba ha! glad you got it back up and runnin. I had this run around a couple weeks ago with the VW
