Radio?

Is there a way to hook subs and an amp to the factory radio? I have the 6 disc cd changer in mine

 

yeah you can buy somethink that you wire into the rear speakers and then it has rca outputs for the amp and it has the power wires also. cant remember the name of it but i had a friend that had one it his car

You can get a sound processer I think, I cant remember. Best think to do is just get a new radio. You will spend just as much buyin somethin to make it compatible as u would on a radio I think.

YeS but u can use usb's which can hold like 2000 easily

 

yeah it get the wired right into the speakers then runs into the amp with rca's just like a deck
and screwgreen is right just get one with a usb or ipod ready and the sound will be much better

If your amp has high level inputs, you won't need a line level RCA output converter. Some amps do and some amps only have RCA inputs. If the amp has them, the high level inputs will be a four pin connector with:
White Left +
White/black Left -
Gray Right +
Gray/black Right -

You can run wires from the speaker wiring to the amp's high level input wires.
2000 F150 Audio wiring colors:
Left Rear (+) Orange/Light Green
Left Rear (-) Light Blue/White
Right Rear (+) Orange/Red
Right Rear (-) Brown/Pink

We used to make a speaker "popper" to verify polarity of unknown speaker wiring.
Using a C or D cell battery, connect the speaker wires to the positive and negative of the battery. If the speaker moves outward the wire connected to the positive of the battery is speaker +, if the speaker moves inward, the wires are reversed polarity.
This is helpful to get both left and right speakers into "phase". Both sides will be pushing outward at the same time when audio signal is applied. If one speaker is wired opposite of the other, they will be "out of phase". Out of phase speakers will have great bass only when all left or all right is selected on the balance control.

My head unit in the F250, has single CD, USB, aux for ipod type personal players and HD for High Definition broadcast radio stations. I use the rear P-Bus connection for XM satellite radio. Comes with remote that can change all audio levels, not just volume, mute and source or on/off.

I have the same problem, but solved it with this stereo. Its not a fix, but this stereo has soooooo many gadgets to use you won't miss the disc changer.

I just link it blue tooth to my smart phone or plug in my old mp3 player, can play more that six disc's worth of cd's that way.
It also links blue tooth to your phone for hands free, you can hear the conversation over the speakers, has a mic plug in the back of the reciever for external microphone, other wise you have to have your phone fairly close to you to use the mic on the phone (I usually lay it on my leg, works fairly good that way).
