So I found a used one for a good price and I'm wondering do I have to buy custom turn es or does it have preloaded tunes already their website says I. Need custom but I called one of their dealers and he was confused as hell about that

you would need to have it programmed by a place that does tuning.

get a edge now. then if you mod your truck like s/c/turbo, built engine ...etc then get the x-cal for more tunability since you cant use the edge for that kind of stuff. but you can send the edge out to gyphon or something like that and they can take what you have done and computer tune but...but thats not as effieient nor will it run as good as if you took the x-cal sold the edge and tuned ur truck with the x-cal

^x2 all really good info. id say go with the edge too first. once you start to actually get into the heavier and more intense mods then get it professionally tuned.
