this probly belongs in the 9th gen section but i figured it'd get more views this way, and i'm sure its been answered a million times already well idk what i want to do with my truck, leave it stock or lift it, ideally i want to do either a dana 44 sas, or a dana 60 leaf sas, but i've been considering just doing a ttb lift, i like to take my truck out and play in the mud, use it for hunting, fishing, camping and it does see some very light trails, its not a rock crawler, and it does do some mall crawling, i also want it to be driveable, i dont want it to be so big and insane i cant drive long distances i see Jc whitney has the RC 4" lift for right around $400 and i'd keep my 31"s for awhile, so what are the downfalls of the ttb lift vs a sas? i've done alot of research on the sas but on a college student budget, its not gonna happen any problems with alignment or premature wear of parts or anything else i should know?
a 4" lift will look good with 31's or 33's, I wouldn't go any bigger than that. i say go for it, if you want function and looks
if i do i'll keep the 31"s altleast another year, afterall, they only have like 10k on them, but i've heard stories like getting it realigned every 3 months and i dont want to be chewing up tires either
i just told my friend to buy the rancho 4", and she removed her factory rear axle block to give it a level look. she put 18's wrapped in 32.5 and it looks frickin SWEEEET. its a single cab, short bed though.
Get a 4" rough country, thats what I did and I love mine (mines 2wd though). After I got mine alligned right after the lift I havent had to again and that was in july last year. As far as tire size goes 31s look good enough... the 33s would look better but I also got pretty new 31s so the 33s gotta wait.
