Suspension Issues, lift questions...

    So i got my alignment done today, and the shop i took it too said their was a few things wrong...

    on the front end...
    Driver side - upper ball joint with control arm $103
    passenger side - same $103
    - labor $114
    driver side - lower ball joints $389
    passenger side - lower ball joints $395
    - labor $399

    on the rear end i need i need the U bolts which are $150+tax

    and i would have to get the truck alignment again, but he said they would do that for free... if i do the work with them...

    my question was...

    if i get a suspension lift, will any of these parts be replaced? that way i can just wait, or do i have to get this fixed regardless? just wanna make sure i dont spend unnecessary money.

    If they went ahead and did the alignment then there's nothing really wrong. Shops WILL NOT align them if all that stuff was bad.

    The parts and labor are WAY TO HIGH you should run from that place.

    And yeah some of those components can be changed when lifted.

    what he said shops are always trying to stick it to you with ball joints. if they ain't squeaking they are not bad

    but if i get a suspension lift, will some of these parts be included with the lift? or will i have to purchase separately?

    No unless you get a long travel system that comes with an aftermarket upper A arm and lower a arms. Instead of replacing with the factory style upper A arm you could get an aftermarket A arm that'll last longer on more stress. and you being 4x4 long travels are hard to find. you could go with dixon bros

    why are those prices so high???? if you let this shop work on your truck i have a few things to sell you

    if you're going to replace your balljoints do yourself a BIG favor and do it yourself. i got my upper A arms for $120 each and some lower balljoints for $40 each and i rented the balljoint press from autozone for $50 i think it is and got to work.

    It's not worth it, Long travel kits are about 3-5k

    rear u bolts are like 12 dollars at autozone...

    the only catch is U bolts dont wear out or need replacing unless you break one
