picked up some 20s this afternoon for really cheap, the faces shine up like new but the chrome is pitting/peeling inbetween the spokes and on the backside of wheels. i know acid bathing or sandblasting would be the best way to go about getting the chrome off but im just flipping these wheels so trying to spend as little $ as possible and do it myself, if i were to get a wire bit (like used for cleaning metal before welding) and just throw it in a drill and go to town would it work, or maybe a sanding bit? again im just flipping the wheels so dont have to be show room perfect just trying to get the flaking off and then slap some paint on them...

heres a pic of them now and how i plan on painting them

Sand blasting is the only way to get the chrome all the off(if it's stuck on good) . You will have to get a grinder with a flapper wheel that might work . I would Just sell them as is.

ten fo, the face of the wheel cleans up like new and isnt chipping at all, inbetween and the back of the wheel its almost completely gone so figured if i can get the rest off, spend $10 on paint and double the amount i can sell them for it might be worth it.. just never tried anything with chrome wheels before..

just paint the insides black and leave the outsides chrome. then it would be like a machined wheel.

thats the plan, just gota get the little bit of chrome thats left off the insides. gona get a wire bit from work tomorrow and go to town on em after work.. should i go durable and spray bedline em or just use some black krylon, im thinkin if i use the bedliner it may be a little more forgiving on the spots where maybe i cant get the chrome off..

ya thats what i decided on, will hide and little flaws is what im thinkin.

picked up the wheels and tires for $240 bucks the tires are 305-55-20 terra grapplers and are in good shape an easy 40-50% left on them so i can get 250-300 for just the tires easy... wheels should come out good with about $20 bucks and a few hours after work i should be able to get 2-300 for em
