I know how to mud I've had a few street legal mud trucks. And when I had a 2wd s10 I went thru a lot of mud at 40 + mph. I experimented 2wd Mudding with a 2wd s10. I tried different amounts of weight, different gears, and speeds. I found going faster in a 2wd without super aggressive mud tires and a lot of hp makes you go further in the big boy pits. I went thru a pit with 44 inch ruts going 50 and made it thru with no damage. The only time you will damage your truck doing this is if You hit a stump or rock.

I had a friend who hit one fast in a ranger. The result was a blown motor.

Hitting one at forty mph would cause a lot of damage in a stock 2wd

oh... i've done some dumb things offroading and mudding..hell i even got hit by a yota and still have the scars on ol white but i would never go faster than 20 mph in the mud. I don't know how you didn't break something going 50 i guess you just got lucky. if you have to go faster than 20 mph then you probably shouldn't be mudding in that area, especially in a 2wd with an open diff. You need to know your limits
