If you read it through I said Im fixin to build mine WHEN it goes. Tranny mods help with the shifting, and towing. Might as well throw some mods in there when your paying for the labor to have it rebuilt.

Another tip I got from a customer who was a Ford technician, If you get a good truck with a long lasting tranny and it finally does go out, make sure they rebuild YOUR tranny. A lot of shops around here just throw another rebuilt tranny in there to save time. Apparently there are tolerances during manufacturing, and some are built better.

Just something I heard from a Ford guy, makes sense to me. My dads f250 has 167k on it without a rebuild and we haul A LOT of weight at least 2 days out of the week. And a buddy of mine had his go at 76k, of course a lot depends on the driving style, but it just makes sense.

But yeah, it would cost way to much to build and mod a tranny off the cuff, but if your rebuilding it already it couldnt hurt to throw in a few hundred for performance.

"After my chip my next step will be a shift kit and some after market injectors. But the shift kit, clutches, and a bigger torque converter will help out a lot."
