I'd change ur fuel filter first before u jump on changing the pump Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Let me ask you, do you live where they salt roads? Whether you do or don't...check your Fuel Pump Control Module...its on the cross member behind your spare tire....i know mine and many others have gotten corroded and i don't even live where they salt the roads....you will be able to tell...
i say maf if that doesnt do it then fuel pump look on ebay i got mine from a junkyard that has warranty lol so if it goes out they send me a new one and it was 1/3 of the price
I'm not gonna have a chance to work on it until probably tomorrow. Should I hear the fuel pump run after I turn the key on, because I don't. Will the truck still run decent on the road like mine does if the fuel pump isn't working at all? I've also noticed a good amount of moisture coming from the exhaust while the truck is running. One last thing..... Can somebody explain to me how the inertia switch in the kick panel works? I don't have a owners manual. I have pushed the button with the truck running, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
Ok, so I pulled the throttle body off to clean it and the MAF, and found that is it very nasty and that the intake itself is nasty and black looking. There looks to be oil down in the intake. Could this be a PCV issue? A few of the old plugs had oil on them when I pulled them. Is there a way tom change the PCV on these trucks without replacing the intake manifold? After I change the PCV, how do I get all of the oil out of the intake? I think if I fix this it will fix my truck, but I have no idea where to start. Thanks for all of the help guys.
Ok, I just cleaned the throttle body and MAF, and the truck runs and idles PERFECT. I am still a little concerned about the oil in the intake if anybody could help me with that. Also I can't figure out where this dang oil leak is coming from. I am 99% sure it isn't coming from the valve cover gasket that I already changed. Any chance that the leak and the oil in the intake could be related?
could be related...somtimes oil will seep in through the the exhuast manifolds...you can check it by removing a few of the bolts...see if any have alot of oil on the ends of them...i've seen that happen b4
