Can anyone help me out with our escape?

    sounds like either a ball joint or strut

    if the ball joints have no play, i'd rule them out pretty safely. strut is all i can think of right now because of it making noise over bumps too.
    while you have it apart, i'd grease those muffler bearings. at around 110k they cause you all kinds of hell. :joke:

    ^^^ what color grease would you recommend? It DOES matter.

    it sure does matter. i usually go military grade depending on the job- camo all the way.

    Ha ha, I usually go with the "Bobcat" brand, its blue/green so you know its good.

    Yep, that little rig drives my wife and little girl around, gotta keep it in tippy top shape.

    I did more investigating, jacked it up, took the wheel and junk off. definitely the shock and strut. I read up some about it, turns out its an entire shock/strut/spring assembly. Got a haynes manual on its way for torque specs and just an over all guideline, ordered the strut assembly for both sides and I might tackle it this weekend, but the wife said she has a fathers day surprise planned so it might have to wait.
