going old school thinking about running cable cut outs the way i was thinking about running them is maybe removing a few cats and running o2 dumby sensors and then right after the down pipe run a cable operated cutout one running to a small muffler making a good tone and making it semi legal and still have a nice tone then the other pipe running no mufflers out the rear some where. anyone got ideas for me i want to run cutouts
What truck do you have? You can get magnaflow hi-flo cats to still be emissions legal. There are a couple guys running the electric cutouts that I've seen. They put a Y-pipe right after the cats and have one section running to the 'quiet' exhaust, and the other side has the cutout and a straight pipe.
how do u consider that old school you can put cutouts in anything. just run a decent exhaust no need to be stupid loud when you have good tone
Cuz sometimes you want that loud and obnoxious straight pipe drone! Up here its actually illegal to modify a vehicles exhaust to be louder than stock, its not enforced often, but it is probable cause for a cop to pull you over. Cutouts would allow you to pass the sound test and still have a straight pipe when you want it
