Well a couple weeks ago I got a call from a buddy who had gotten stuck while trying to tow one of his IDIOT friends out. (She drove a little baby car into a swamp). Towed his 4Runner out, and while turning around to get the little car, I felt a nice clunk, grinding, and lot's of noise and then not moving. Hopped out and the first thing I notice is my rear tires are a lot farther forward than they should be. The lift blocks fell apart, and lower part of the rear axle tilted forwards and up, buckling the u-joint.

This conveniently happened 2 miles down a powerline, on a hill, in the mud, in the rain. Went home in my friends car, got my dads F350 and some tools. Used my friends car as an anchor and my dads truck to pull, pulled my truck forwards over the rear axle to get it lined back up. In the end it was nearly 6 hours and a stop by the Police before I got my truck home.

I've seen those cheap ones do that on on minitrucks back in the day. It appears they've not changed a bit.

I didn't have time to wait for some to ship so I so picked a set up from shucks for $37. Hopefully they will last...The news ones are aluminum though, and I can see the CNC marks...rather than cast steel like those ones...
