well i spent some time late last night in the garage....removed my side steps and taped off half of the truck...im about to go to the store to get my spray on bedliner and materials but i just dont know if i have to nuts to sand down my beautiful two tone....ive been wanting to do this for a long time but never had the time. im not even that fond of the two tone grey color...its just that mental part of once i do it it cant be easily fixed if i change my mind later...im thinking about doing a bumper first and if it sucks then i can have it fixed easier....also worried if the rusto stuff is going to stick to my plastic flares!....help guys!
DO IT! I sanded my two-tone silver down and sprayed in DSG and was SO glad when i did it. you're apprehensiveness will fade away once you see how great it looks compared to before. MAN UP!
you don't even have to sand it that much. i didn't sand the white truck at all and the bedliner stuck perfectly and didn't chip at all even with power washing it. just clean the surfaces real good and spray it on it's worth it trust me
ok ok ok....im gonna do it....time to cowboy up! anyone know how well its gonna stick to my flares...and i think im gonna use scotch pad to at least scuff the paint a bit
that stuff should stick to your factory flares pretty good. although its plastic, its textured, so its almost scuffed up (already not a smooth surface, even though the plastic itself is smooth). allow 20 min between coats, and a full hr on the final coat before you touch.
