Well it's definitely time for a new one...and I was thinking about a YellowTop. But since everyone seems to have a different opinion on Optima, and i have been told you can't or shouldn't jump start an Optima, I'm now thinking twice. I was wanting the Optima for it's deep cycle + starting capabilities. I need to be able to run lights and stereo equipment without the truck running for fairly long periods of time. So, are there any other batteries out there that will suit my needs?
They seem to be kinda hit or miss. I walked into the store fully intending to walk out with one, but when i walked up to the counter I was told no. Ha. Another guy said they were worthless, but a third says he loves them.
I jump start my blue top every time I want to take the zuk out. Optima's kick azz why yall gotta hate.
i just went throught a battery crisis, i was gonna get an optima, but why not get a more poweful battery, 1000 cold cranking amps, 1200 cranking amps Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Man go buy you a good quality battery and put that extra money you'll save from not buying an Optima back in your pocket for a rainy day. Optima's are for people with money falling out their asses...case in point Ricky and Zuk.
Mark, didn't it take some slight modification to make it fit? How are you liking it though? Thinking about a Super Start because of the easy availability, though one that actually fits my truck properly, one with 880CCA. Just worried anything other than a deep cycle won't perform how I want.
Whats the best battery for cold weather? The college I'm going to it gets to -30 degrees and she cranks over hard when its cold
