Finished up the 8.8 sploder rear end for the Ranger! All I need is a driveline out of a 4.0 and some U-bolts!

Here's when I first bought it. $75 off CL. Frozen brakes, 3.55 gears, and a busted diff cover.

Explorer leaf springs mount on the bottom, so I had to cut the leaf perches off, and relocate them. The axle stripped of it's hardware, cuts filled in, and ground smooth.

    Perch relocated

    Shock mounts

contact pattern after installing the 5.13's. I also Lincoln locked it.

Converted it to disc brakes! For those who don't know, disc brakes from a 95 and up, bolt right up, with no modification.

Picked up a sweet diff cover!

And the final product! Aint she purty!

Yeah, no kidding right! It feels like this Ranger build is taking forever! Only 8 months in the making, but it's been full of trials, and VERY spendy! This is one of the last steps, and I can't friggen wait to be done with it!

    Pics to come on Monday!

Yeah, I'm gona have to rob one from an explorer, and get creative. I need the spring keeper, and slotted eye for the hook-like doo dad, that engages it. Should be small beans. Some crimpers, and a crimp on threaded adjuster for the split, and a good hour of my time.
