Xcal3 has arrived

Got my tuner in and the spartan files loaded to it and ready to go on the truck in the morning.

the files i loaded are

Max Economy Designed for maximum fuel economy; no assigned power or tow ratings.
Aggressive Street Economy 130HP daily-use performance and economy calibration
Hybrid Race 150-170HP (Dependant Upon Calibration) performance calibration

gonna run the aggressive street first. the truck is basically stock except for 3.5 inch straight pipe (no cat no muff) for now. gonna be doing the oil cooler and egr delete very soon

He'll yea. That plus I'll be getting matt's srl tune which won't smoke much at all but has gobs of power

 

Id recommend getting some gauges if you dont already have some. Monitoring your EGT's is really important, especially if your running a 150 HP tune. Mine went from 600 reg driving up to 700 to 800 on my 120 tune. it gets up to 1000 to 1100 when im on it. you dont want to exceed 1200. Lots of things to look out for when youre boosting up a stock diesel that much. high flowing exhaust makes a big big difference on temps.

have fun with it, id look into some air intake mods, a higher flowing exhaust, and some gauges, even a scan gauge would be a good one.

Opened the exhaust up this past weekend. No more cat and never had a muff since I've had it.

I'm debating on whether or not to do the gauges before or after the oil cooler and egr delete. Basically I can do gauges and see I need to do the cooler or just do the cooler since im getting a bulletproof one already and egr delete while I'm in there.

Don't have to worry to much right now cuz im not running it hard or driving alot currently. And the stock air intake is rated for 500hp but I think I'm gonna do the zoodad mod this weekend also.

A 4 inch pipe will lower your egt's a lot, I noticed a significant power increase after I put that on. The zoodad mod helps a lot too, basically eliminates the need for a name brand CAI. As long as the air moves freely your good to go. at least you have the bigger trans cooler. Im fixin to rob one out of a 6.0.
