hi guys im new here i was hoping yall could help me...
i start school at UTI on the 12th and at the school we get ford parts for 30% off so i thought what an excelent time to do cams and headers since ill get em for 30% off and have the tools to do it. so now the question is what cams should i put in? ive heard of ford racing FRPP 3V hot rod cams but i was under the impression that if you do hotrod cams you need heads lifters and alll kinds of stuff but i saw a vid on youtube of a 5.4L raptor with them and he said you can use them on a stock setup. id like to do the FRPPs cause they sound great but its not worth 1,000+ in other mods.

    thanks for the help guys

well, if it was me, doing just cams is kinda only doing it halfway IMO. if your going to have the motor apart to do your cams, i would at least P&P the heads. as for what kind of cams, why not get a custom ground cam? you can have it tuned specifically to what your needs are.

Frpp, thumper stage 1 are both stock friendly. You gain maybe 20-30 rwhp plus a cool sound. But I'm going with frpp cams. Mustang guys use them on there stock 3vs but do not go over 5400 Rpms cause our 5.4s have weak rods.

you can replace rods and lifters while the engine is apart for a decent $$ and prolly a good idea to do so
this is full of win right here......:peace:
