    Not familiar with the SD's but all it involves on an F150 is unbolting the pump/sending unit and replacing it. The hardest part of the job is dropping the tank if you choose that route.

    if you want to fly me out from Ohio to LA and back. we still could do it under a $1000

    The hardest part is dropping the gas tank and balancing it on a jack as you lift and lower it.

    I actually used two jacks to lower mine and keep it balanced. Dale lowered one as I lowered the other. It worked pretty good honestly.

    What kills me is the dealership wanted to charge me $899 to replace mine. They actually remove the bed, which makes the job even more easier. Without the bed all there us to changing it is pulling the sending unit/fuel pump out and replacing it. Bed off is the easiest route if possible, but dropping the tank isn't shat either honestly. It just kills me to see how much the stealership wants to do a fairly easy job.

    yea they charge way too much. Where can i get the sending unit and how do i take my truck bed off? Is it just screws or what? and if i decide to drop the tank it should be empty i assume since its much lighter then

    not sure where u could get the sending unit. might beable to order one online maybe, and the bed should just be bolts, and yes the less fuel the lighter.

    As empty as possible. Mine had a little under 1/2 a tank when my pump went out so it wasn't super heavy.

    I bought a pump/sending unit from Advance for right at $200. It's an Airtex. Only reason I bought the pump/sending unit combo is from my original sending unit getting stuck from time to time. I'd fill it up and it would stay at empty for 30 miles or so and sometimes more. I figured fugg it, why not just swap it all being I have to take it out anyway.
