well its about that time for new tires. im looking at a couple diffrent ones 1)cooper discover stt in 33/12.5/20 2)nitto trail grapplers in 295/60/20 or 3)genneral grabbers in 315/50/20 guestions being who has them? how well do they wear? and will a 12.9" wide tire(the general grabber) fit on on a 06 4x4? thanks
the 35/12.5/20 grabbers are 12.4 the 315/50/20s are 12.9 but i think the 35s will rub like hell if there on a stock 20" wheel
I have nothing but positive things to say about the coopers, I ran them on my old explorer and my brother (username is bogger8658) is runnin a 35in set on his bronco. They wear really well, and clean well in the mud, and have minimal road noise. I may end up with a set on my F-250. The set I had on the explorer I ran for 35,000 miles and they had lots of life left when I sold them to a buddy.
315mm->31.5cm->12.4 inches. I wouldn't buy anything with less than a 60 sidewall though, they just look like car tires then. If you have a 2.5" level and keep the stock wheels, you'll be fine. Its when people start going with aftermarket (wider) wheels that they start rubbing.
