I noticed a noise and decided to get under my truck and look and see if anything was loose or something like that. well when I get to my driveshaft, where it comes out of my transfer case, it is apparently leaking. I also noticed part of the drive shaft is shining more than the rest, would that be from lifting the truck or is something sliding in and out and not suppose to be? Here is where it has spun what it is leaking. What yall think? Think it has lost enough fluid to be making a noise every now and then?
I have done the seal at the chunk. You think it could have leaked enough to cause a noise like a loud "tic" or metal "clank" usually does it in acceleration, or from reverse/ foreword and vise versa
the rear output seal on the TC is what he is talking about. This will fix you up. (only thing I don't like about rockauto's site, you can't cut and paste a link to a specific page)
as far as causing any issues that big, its possible, but its surprising how many noises are heard when fluid gets low, but go away when you fill it back up.
