Anyone know why on the Supercharged 5.4 2v engines that the supercharger is spitting out oil back through the intake pipe? My buddy has one and if you open his air filter there is oil all over it.....Ford said that all those engines do that...don't know why.....but he wants to know if there is a mod or a fix for this...
He needs Krankvents or an oil catch can. It's just pcv system doing it. It happens to all vehicles. Just worse on sc'd vehicles because of blow by around the pistons due to increased cylinder pressures.
The oil enters through the pcv valve..only way to stop it is an oil separator. l&s has a bolt on kit for the harley trucks, not cheap tho also the intercooler most definitely needs to be taken out and cleaned because that's where all the oil goes. Best of luck. Tell him to check out www.nhtoc.com
Funny you said that because he said its now getting into the inner cooler and there's a tube on the bottom of the intake pipe and oil is leaking on his garage floor. Thanks for the help guys I will be sure to get him on that website. I'll check back with y'all. Sent from my iSmarty 4
That's the same pipe that T's into the pcv vent. If he looks when he takes the intercooler off that pipe WILL BE broken, they all break thus creating a vacuum leak. Tell him to text me if he has any questions 7313451235
