Well my intro post basically showed my plans and current progress for the truck, so I'm copying most of that post for here, and updating it! My truck is completely stock performance wise, but I have many modifications in terms of "style". I pretty much have it in my head how I want the truck to look, I just have bills that practically prevent me from getting it there. Here's a list of exterior changes I have done right now: - Black Projection Headlights w/ 35w DDMtuning 5000k HIDs - Black Smoked LED Tail Lights - Black Smoked LED Third Brake Light - Billet Grille (bent up from wreck, will be straightening it when swapping my HIDs) - Lowering shackles. Plans for exterior: - Swapping projection housings for some Lightning housings or black Lightning style with LEDs. - Upping ballasts to 55w (ordering them this week!) - 22" Black KMC Slide Rims (some time next month!) - Drop the truck another 2" or 4" to either a 2"/4" or a 4"/6" (maybe lower!). - Paint job. (If I get the KMC Slide, I'm hoping for a white with black metallic flakes) Interior changes: - Blue LED Dome Light (secondary two are still white, in case I need to see, haha) - Replacement climate control knobs (instead of the green plastic inside, mine are blue and light up blue) - Replaced climate control bulbs with white LEDs. (Will change to blue once I remove that hideous green tint) - Replaced instrument panel lighting bulbs and blinker bulbs with blue LEDs (need to remove the hideous green tint here, too) - Window tint. (5" 5% Brow, 50% front windows, 5% rear doors and rear glass; not satisfied with the tint job) Plans for interior: - Make a line of switches for amps and lighting. - Retint windows (5" 5% brow over 35% or 50% windshield, 5% front/rear windows and 5% back glass). - Custom back seat area for sub enclosure (no back seat currently hahah). Audio: - Sony Xplod 5"x7" 2-ways (one in each front and rear door). - Old school Rockford Fosgate Punch 4040 DSM for door speakers. - Kicker CVR 15" Subs (two in a 6.2 cu. ft. ported enclosure tuned at 35 Hz) - Random Sony Xplod Amp ("1200w Max") - Jensen VM9212N 7" In-Dash Screen The audio system, although random, is clean (and loud), but will eventually be upgraded to the following: - Rockford Fosgate T400-4 for mids/highs - Rockford Fosgate T2500-1bd or T2500-1bcCP for subs - Rockford Fosgate Power 6.5" Components (two sets, one for front and one for rear) - DC Audio Subs (either two LVL4 15"s or a single LVL5 18") And now for a few pics! Truck haulin' the trailer with the fourwheeler and three wheeler to go muddin. Headlights. Front view. LED tails. This is how the truck sat before new ball joints and lowering shackles. THIS is how the truck sits after lowering shackles! Testing the ride with the shackles with the Red Devil in the back. My front valence has a hole in it from it hitting the frame when I got in a wreck years ago. I FINALLY broke down and ordered a new OEM 4WD valence, some clear fog lights and an HID kit for them. The valence was the only thing shipped so far, and is scheduled to be here Tuesday, but the way it's moving now, I'm feeling like it could even be here tomorrow. More to come soon!
Hey man what type of projectors do you have? And did they come with hid's and if they didnt how were they before you upgraded. These i have know are those crappy 150.00 ebay ones and they dont even fit into my grille right. Plus the lighting is terrible, I cant even use my high beams.
Thanks everyone! I'm tempted to go throw on an exhaust sometime this week. Any suggestions on what would sound good but not retarded on the 4.2L V6? Mine are the ebay ones, and they didn't come with HIDs. The lighting was alright if they're adjusted properly, it's better after. Mine don't fit in my grille right, either, although they're slightly close (not close enough). I plan on swapping out for either some Lightning heads or some black clear headlights, it all depends on how good I can match them to my clear fog lights (might tint the fogs to make them match). More than likely, yeah. It all depends how things progress!
Yup, a real quiet one. Trust me, I've wasted over a grand trying to find a decent sounding muffler/exhaust combo and have yet to find anything that doesn't sound ricey at high RPMs. The only exhaust that's decent is the Hushpower from Flowmaster, it still has a slight V6 whine at higher RPMs, but it's the most tolerable. If I do any exhaust, it'd be out to a turndown pipe. I was thinking about a Flowmaster 40 series. It shouldn't be THAT bad. Once I get the rims, I shouldn't hit high RPMs anyway. Gotta drive smart because Louisiana roads suuuck.
