Front suspension and brake suggestions

Ok guys, I'm planning on replacing my balljoints, tie rod ends, brakes, and shocks all over christmas break. I need to know what brands to look for. I want to go with good quality products, but dont really want to break the bank on it.

For shocks I would get Bilstein 5100s, I haven't heard anything bad about them.

Doing the upper and lower balljoints requires replacing the a-arms also, since they're one piece, Ford charged about $1100 parts+labor when they did mine.
You can order the parts from Ford or RockAuto and do a lot of the work yourself. Look around google for a How-To.

 

Those look nice and arent too expensive! did you notice any improvements in braking over the stock components?

 

I already have a leveling kit, so I dont really need the bilsteins. What about ranchos?

And for balljoints and tie rods, i'm planning on doing the work myself. I head that Moog is a good brand for those, is that true?

 

Yeah, Moog is pretty good.

You can get Ranchos or Bilsteins to replace the stock springs, you don't have to get the ones that level. I've heard more good things about the Bilsteins for our trucks vs the Ranchos. You don't have to crank the 5100s up either if you already have a level, just leave it set at 0"

 

ok, good to know! can i get the bilsteins with the spring already mounted with the shock like the rancho quicklifts?

They stop much better even after hot. And they are zinc plated and won't rust
