dumb question

    my dad passed away a few weeks ago and one of the things he left me was his 2009 f-150 stx 2wheel drive ,it only has 8000 miles on it ,i believe it is a 4.6 ,but i cant tell if it is the three valve or two valve one ,,how can i tell

    sorry for your loss as well.

    to answer your question, it is the 3-valve. in the new models, 09+ the 4.6L was given the 3valve treatment, mainly to ramp up sales before they pushed out the 3 new engines: 3.5 boost, 5.0, and 6.2.

    take great care of that truck as if your dad was the one still owning it.

    Sorry about your dad.

    Your truck is a 3v and I'd keep it as a weekend cruiser and leave it bone stock, or with whatever mods your dad did to it.
