2wd in snow states

being the 21st century, you'd think we'd have developled a better solution then salt by know

alaska uses rock and in some area salt to melt the ice and thats about it

yea pa uses sand ohio uses salt, if the temp drops below 32 over night they coat the roads in it and then nothing happens and the next day the roads are white, not from snow from the salt

 

they usually use sand around here. but usually when it snows Im out early to go play in it before they try and dry it up..i dont get stuck cuz ill drive 1/2 in the ditch and im good hahaha

 

I hate salt... We should try to get something passed not to use salt

 

there is an alternative to salt but they wont use it and i dont know why.....but i have seen them put in a wire mesh while paving thats connected to electric....turn on the juice and it heats the road surface and thaws it out......its not widley used and i have no idea why not
