MY friend has 5 codes! HELP!

    He has been driving with these for a while. I just wanta know what is common to cause these codes. BTW, his truck starts shaking and jerking at about 45-50mph.

    p1309
    p0301
    p0302
    p0171

    Sounds like he needs a tune up and maybe a couple of cop's.

    me and him are gonna do whatever it is. I mean i know its cops and bank 1 lean and that stuff but there are like 10 things it could be for some of these codes. what is most commmon.

    Considering it has 2 misfires, I'd start with plugs. When was the last tune up? How many miles?

    p0401 and 1309 should be the camshaft position sensor, might be out of sync or faulty. Also possible, is the crankshaft position sensor
    p0301 and 0302 are misfires on cylinder 1 and 2

    so misfires should i start with plugs or cops

    Plugs are alot cheaper than cops.

    But these plugs can also strip, right? Im not much on 5.4s

    you probably did it already, but make sure the wire is on the plug first, i had a misfire once and the wire was just loose
