So, i've been trying to figoure out why the RAB has been so shatty on mpgs. I know its a 4x4, blabh lbah blah. But it should be no where near as bad as it is. Will clogged cats cause the mpgs to suffer? I know my mechanic tyolsdm me the fuel filter wa spretty much clogged since it looke dlike the original one from 97. Any thoughts/input?
Ive done fuel filter and a tune up. I see 9 at best year round, thats with factoring in my tire size.
Our local maxi muffler shop has a great manager, he will backpressure test our exhaust systems to check for clogged cats at no charge.
clogged cats are pretty common on a 14 year old truck. i think replacing them with OE cats or even 2 hi flow cats would get you some better mileage
mine were clogged to the point that they were blowing egr and vacuum lines under the hood, replaced them along with alot of other stuff, truck runs alot better but didnt help the mpgs any
