You might want to have an inspection done just to be on the safe side to make sure there isn't any hidden damage such as to the wheel bearing. I took a decent hit to my front passenger's side tire/wheel a couple months ago. Everything looked fine, no damage whatsoever. But 3 weeks after the incident, the wheel separated from the hub while I was getting on the freeway. Insurance covered it thankfully but I could have been up sh*t creek if I had been driving freeway speeds. I would at least try to listen for any weird noises or notice any unfamiliar vibrations, maybe even put the truck in the air and spin the tire/wheel.
I am still waiting for insurance to let me know when to bring it in for its estimate of dadmage but yes I will be asking for a complete inspection on that tire and requesting a new tire along with the rim even though the current tire is holding air. That's some scary sh**....I hope my tire doesn't just fly off since all I do is highway driving
you better do like riv said and have them check the hubs and bearings too!...not to mention ball joints and the steering too!

you know I would say make them put in a new wheel bearing/hub assembly. I'm surprised you didn't get a rental from the insurance company. They would just pass on the bill to the other guy anyway.
I don't want my insurance to pay a dime I am so mad at the lady that hit me that I refuse to pay my $500 deduc. I know my insurance company will get reimbursed but in the mean time I would be out $500 at xmas time ......State Farm is her ins company they called me friday and said they are waiting for the police report but from the area of impacts on the vehicles they know they will be at fault and at that time I will be supplied with a rental....so I will be rocking a ford focus or something tiny in the snow .
that's retarded. I never had to pay my deduc when someone hit me. And I made them give me a truck for a rental because that is what I was driving.
Well they would give me the 500 back once its ruled as her fault but ill just wait ....as for the rental thy will only pay for 25 dollars a day so trucks are like 90 for the day ....25 a day thats an economy car lol
