So I gotta replace some of the original suspension components like the ball joints, idler arm and pitman arm. Idler arm seems easy enough, I helped my friend with ball joints before but I'm not sure about the pitman arm. How hard is it to remove and replace? And my steering wheel is about a 1/3 turn off of center right now so how should I go about correcting this? Remove pitman arm, correct steering wheel, replace pitman? I am going to get an alignment after this so if that will correct my steering wheel, then that's a bonus
The best way to get it off is to use a pitman arm puller and use a propane torch. I got one at lowes for 20 bux. Put the puller on there, then apply heat for about 20 mins an it should pop right off.
