I have two 5" tips that are jus regular exhuast pipe not ss or chrome. And i want to paint them black. Ive tried paintin them with grill and stove paint and even bedliner. But the bedliner dont hold up to the heat and the grill and stove paint gets stained brown really easy from dirtroads and mud.

    Any ideas guys?

Unless you use some high heat paint it's all gonna burn off. If powder coating isn't an option then I'd paint em flat black with the high temp paint. They sell exhaust paint at Summit and even VatoZone.

Did my exhaust tips with Duplicolor High Temp Engine Paint. Sandblasting helps a ton.

Chrome tips are worthless IMO. I've had them several times on different trucks and every time they end up stained. I've always told people that get their exhaust done to pay the extra money and get the stainless. Stainless isn't completely free of getting stained, but they're a whole hell of a lot easier to clean.

I opted for the ole cut off at the muffler with a turndown. Haven't regretted it since. :peace:

I think im goin to try exhaust paint next. But when i used the paint or grills n stuff it was pose to be temp treated or what ever. And it didnt flake or peel off it jus didnt come clean. But yall thank exhaust launt would come clean easier?
