im gonna be needing new tires here in the spring and im having a hard time deciding on what ones i want and what size. figured that you guys could give me some input. im looking for an all terrain tire that will see mostly highway driving and occasional light off-road when i go hunting and camping. im thinking i want to go up in size some to fill out the wheel wells a little more, my truck is stock height, has the stock wheels, and obviously four wheel drive. lets pretend that money isnt an object (even though it is haha)
285/70/17 or 305/70/17 (didn't look to see if you had stock 17s or 16s) BFG A/T or Nitto terra grapplers
Good year wrangler duratacks had them on my explorer sport never got stuck quite and nice ride went threw snow like crazy went threw mud and we use them on our company snow plow truck and its plows nice
Should have bought them wrangler MT/Rs my uncle was sellin!! They prolly would have looked goofy, i think they were a 235/75. You know i love my BFGs man. My dad is on his second set after getting just under 50k on his first.
I have the GDYR Duratrac's on mine ( stock 265/70 ) I've never gotten stuck in mud to the frame and great in snow ( they have the mountain snowflake symbol ). I work for GDYR so I got them fairly cheap but I also heard the BFG all terrains are pretty awesome.
ive got the stock 17s, i have a set of the wranglers (the regular highway type i forget which specifically) and i dont like the way they ride at all. im thinking about getting some bfg a/t, but i am going to look in to the others suggested. thank you guys very much for the input. Chris those tires your uncle had looked goofy as hell imo lol
