I have a 2004 6.0 the engine has been solid with proper maintenance being made. The truck has had other issues unfortunately that did not hold up to the abuse that my profession has given it due to over hauling and certainly my new issue with the flashing instrument cluster (please see my post if you have suggestions) I wouldn't give this truck up for the world.

The new price tags are biggest issue with all fords on the market. My same truck brand new would cost 67,000 which is highway robbery. If you have the opportunity to pick up a new 6.7 I would certainly. I have heard only good things and that ford has worked out many of the flaws of it's predecessors. I test drove several before deciding to keep running my existing '04.

The 6.0 is JUNK unless you do the egr delete and head studs. Once thats replaced you shouldnt have any major problems and you can built the crap out of a 6.0 and it will fly! The 6.0 will be fine if fixed :) The new 6.7 is awesome if you can afford it!

I'd go 7.3. If you look hard there a plenty of deals were you can get a nice one for around 10k sometimes cheaper. I'd say go 7.3 because my dad has that truck and its unstoppable. Its got over 300k motor runs like it just came out of the factory, plus he's got a 80hp tuner in it and it will get up and go. Endless hp options plus we tow all the time towing with it is like a breeze. Towing a boat or something you forget its back there towing our 36ft fifth wheel it tows with ease. But im shure all the f250's can do the same but i know our 7.3 kicks ass.
