well now im reading alot around the net that you want a small diameter pipe in true duals because it helps with lowend torque?? Hm..
Do the dual 2.5" crossover with x-pipes. Delete the rear 2 cats and run some magnaflows, 18". The mufflers will provide enough of a restriction that you don't need the 2.25" pipes
the one on there now would make it have more torque with the added back pressure. I'd think for true duals 2.25 might be better
Not too many muffler shops do mandrel bends, most use the typical pinch bend. It's not like you're building a high horsepower race car, the pinch bend will be fine.
What you have now is not the reason that your truck is "slow". I don't see the sense in spending the money if you're not going to get mandrel bent and are going to get nothing out of it, either. My last F150 had a 4.6 and the thing wouldn't turn the tires over any more after I went one size bigger to the FX4 stock size and cat back duals! You can't make an apple out of an orange. Your truck only made 220 hp from the factory. It is what it is.
^yeah. Plus I mainly was listening to the man at the muffler shop yesterday because he has a 2001 f150 supercrew with a 4.6 and 4.11 gears on 35inch tires. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
I got 2 magnaflow cats and a single in dual out Flowmaster. But I like loud so I want to replace the muffler with a y pipe. It sounds like a little rumble in the cab but nasty from the back. Sent from my iFord f150
i wouldnt worry about looseing low end, cause you wont, if i had a 4.6 , id just take off the 2 rear catts, and put some dynomax bullets on there , id also use 2.25 with true duals, but since i have a 5.4 , i use 2.5
Would taking off my single in dual out Flowmaster and just running my 2 magnaflow cats be fine? Last time I did emissions they just checked for cats. Sent from my iFord f150
