Finally got the hitch in and had a chance to pull 11k lb trailer today. Interesting to say the least.
it does look like its handling the base weight of that trailer no problem. tell me though, had did it actually perform w/ all that weight? could you tell it was a small gas turbine engine or did you still feel power throughout the entire power band?
dang didnt know it would be doing that....i am intrested in seeing how it does..ill show it to my dad and he may trade in my brothers taco (when he gets a raptor my dad gets the taco) and get an eco!!!
I didnt get a chance to drive very far but i will have more seat time after some dyno work late this week. The truck has the HD package with LT tires. The truck handled the weight surprisingly well, not squirmy at all (to my surprise). As for the power / shifting with Fords map.. Some things need to be remapped for sure. Towing this weight one thing that did jump out at me is the lack of engine braking in tow/haul mode when decelerating. Thats one advantage the 5.0 /6.2 V8 has is much improved engine braking with 2 xtra cylinders. More to come later, thanks for your interest and posts Mike
hey mike, if i buy that tuner i talked to you about earlier, could i drive up there and put my truck on the dyno before the tune and cai, then put it back on after its put on?
