I ordered a new set of taillights. I have a 2003 and when they arrived, they had two bulb openings for the brake. It came with a sticker to block the 2nd hole for post 2000. Well I don't want a sticker in my taillights so I am wondering if anyone can tell me if it is possible to convert it? I am assuming that if I get the mount and plugs, I can splice them in. Has anyone done this? I am looking for some tips on the wiring. Since the 2003 bulb should be a two way, it should have wires going to it for running, brake, and turn. I am guessing for the pre-2000, there was a seperate bulb for the turn so I should be able to isolate the turn signal wire. Does anyone have a diagram for both? Also, would ya'll think autozone would carry harnesses/plugs or would it be something I would have to go to Ford to obtain? Thanks in advance for the help.
My 97 has one bulb for running and brake. One backup bulb and that is it. opps did not get it right the first time.
that connector/bulb holder should be very easy to find at a junkyard and cheap then id just splice them into the factory harness
should be real easy if you can find a truck in your year just cut enough wire to splice them in with the other ones, and you might get lucky enough and find they used the same color wires then just match them up.
the junkyards around here are douchebags. they will make you buy both tail lights to get the pig tails. for those of you with 97's, are they the flareside?
