About 20-22 highway. Not going to get that with a stock powerstroke though, thats on my economy tune, averaging 65 while keeping the rpms down. Im getting about 17-18 daily with my lead foot. thats just what my rough numbers come out to.

Used to commute to Cleveland from Painesville... ugh, I had a stupid little Mazda Tribute... the Escape's retarded twin brother. Was a 4cyl with 5 speed... mpgs were great 28ish, but damn thing fell apart... bought it new in 06, and dumped it in 08. The salt is killer out there.

if you want a diesel for mileage, look at the cummins trucks. from what i have seen, they are the best for fuel mileage... hell, and pretty much the best period.

my buddy in FT Hood had a 2000ish ram cummins with a rediculous "i dont care if my kids eat today" amount of money into it and he could pull down 30ish MPG on one tune, and out drag pretty much all comers in the 1/4 on another tune. that truck was going to be my future ex-wife

12 valves (94-98) get 20-ish from what I read. 1998.5 they went to the 24 valve and the injection pumps went out all the time. $1000 repair each time. You could get a 24 valve and do. P7100 pump swap and have a BA truck though. 2003+ is the common rail, which is what West has. 2007.5+ they went to a 6.7 The 12 valve is mechanical, so no tunes for that. You tune with a wrench, and I like that. So there ya go with cummins  good luck man.

i like the 12v because they are simple and mechanical, but i like the 24v because you can put a programmer on it, but i'm just curious as to numbers, all i did was apply to the job, i'd have to wait till i get it first, but hey even if a get one locally this ole boy might be buying a new truck anyway lol
