lookin for a new suv

    so dad wants to get rid of mom's escape, he's heard alot of bad things about them recently and he's worried about the tranny since its already making noises

    so we are looking for a small suv, similar in size as the escape, 4wd/awd and atleast 20 mpg, and in order to be able to afford it right now we have to stay within a budget of $12,500

    so we are looking at an '07 Honda CR-V and an '08 Jeep Patriot, any thoughts on these or others?

    my friends mom has a patriot, had it since '04 (i think) and no problems with it so far

    Hyundai Santa Fe is a decent rig. My g/f is driving one and it's not terrible

    bad enough we're lookin at a honda, would hate to buy a hyundai lol

    id go jeep over honda any day. not that hondas are bad, out of those two I like jeep better.
