They have a new one-piece plug. But they're not covering the cost if they break the old ones... i would pay the $200 for a regular change no problem, but having to pay $800 when a Ford tech breaks a Ford plug is uncalled for.

There's a dealer near me that gave me a flat-rate of about $250, regardless of if the plugs break or not...idk if they realize the issue or not, but I'm going to get it in writing when I get mine done :jester:

Ya Ford has def known about the problem for years. U figure tho,by the the time it was nationally known it was to late and to issue a recall would have cost Ford billions.Hell you gotta issue the recall first, send out nation wide emails to the dealerships, but OK say they would have did all that. Here comes the expensive part.Riembursing the techs at the dealerships for the work.Ya that would have been very expensive.

Is it right? No.But i see why Ford chose the rout they did.

When i changed mine,i broke 6 of the 8.Lucky my Snap on guy who i have an account with told me about the tool, thanks god.Cause when i contacted my dealership about how much it would cost.He quoted me about $2,900 cause its a chain driven motor so ya gotta pull the heads...
