...I just couldn't pass up. I an edge from a guy over at F150forum for $220. Only sold it because it wouldn't work on his 97. and damn, you guy weren't joking about theses things. acceleration is so much better. I've got in on lvl 2 and tomorrow im gonna adjust shift points and firmness as well based on what i've seen posted in the programmer thread. But I've also got two questions, once a tune is installed, can i unplug the edge from the truck? and if the battery dies, its no big deal, just charge it and go? Just wanna make sure I don't have to worry about f-ing something up
nice jake. congrats. yea you can unplug it from the truck. the write is saved to the truck, if the battery dies its saved as well. for a while i was unplugging the programmer at night and pluggin it back in during the day. i feared that someone would try and steal it. but lately ive just been leaving it in so i can monitor my MPG and all that good stuff.
ya thats what im worried about to and i really don't wanna leave it in the truck if its gonna get real cold at night. Good too know, thanks! Also im monitoring MPH Instant MPG Actual MPG Engine Temp
you should be fine. i think the manual gives you the temps that its ok to be in. it even says in lower temps the unit will change screens slowly. you should be alright. but if you think someone is going to steal it i wouldnt take a chance. im looking to get an alarm at the moment and maybe tint my windows...i just dont trust people anymore.
im curious as to how accurate the MPG is. i get between 11.8 and 12.5 in the city and between 12-14 driving to work everyday (coutry driving, 30 minute drive)
Ya, im not super worried, I live in the country and my hometown is a small rural city as well, only 9,000 peeps. But im planning on tinting my windows 20% this spring I'll keep you posted. before the edge i was getting about 12-12 mixed city/ 2 lane highway. already the short little drive i went on my avg mpg went up to 12 and when i got back i changed my display to show instant as well
Why the heck would you want to unplug it form the truck The dang display wouldn't work. No leave it plugged up. And no you can't screw it up.
Im only talking about at night if were to get really cold or something and then just hooking it back up in the morning
