I have a 97 f150 xlt 4x4 and I've noticed a hose coming out the intake running into a fitting on the firewall driver side the line is a dealer part according to autozone ! The hose is really dry rotted could this hose cause my truck to have any hesitation at all and make my check engine light stay on ? Any advice is greatly appreciated

if its the brake booster hose you should definitely get that replaced. it could case you to have some brake problems if its breaks since it wouldnt be keeping a vaccum condition in the booster. im not sure if that would turn your CEL on or cause the truck to run ****ty. im sure someone will chime in with more info.

You can use regular vaccum hose for that line, the idiots at vatozone have no idea what they are talking about.
