not really, thats if you buy new sh!t and buy your land its 40 acres so you dont need labor rent in the midwest per acre of ag land is around 150/acre/year. times 40 is 6000 a year for land. you can get a decent tractor for 20,000. strip till for 8,000 planter for 10,000 3 pt hitch sprayer for 8,000 combine for 15-25,000 you can plant for 40-70 an acre. thats 1600-2800 chemicals would end up bein about the same you need 200 lbs of nitrogen/acre. at 500 a ton its 2000 for it all, rotate with soybeans and you wont need that much for the next corn crop corn is at 6.50 a bushel right now a decent yield is 250-300 bushels an acre, times 40 acres is 10,000-12,000 dollars to start out itll cost around 78,000 give or take, not counting fuel which varies. making the same yield you can pay that off in 7 years. and the bank will give you a 100,000 loan to start farming if you can come to them with a fairly detailed plan and show them you know what your doing and you can pay them off. and if you buy from a dealer, tractor payments wont start until after the seasons over, when you have your check come in down here everythings cheaper too lol. sorry to go all ag on ya
