running roug CEL

Ok so this has happened 2 times now about 6 months apart. My 97 f150 4x4 4.6. I left work this morning and truck started running like crap no power running rough on acceleration. the CEL started blinking. It did this like 6 months ago so I ran a can of sea foam in the tank and it went away. Does anyone have a clue why it does this? Is it bad gas?? I am stumped. I hope it clears out like last time but not sure yet.

 

it may be a bad COP. hook it up to a scanner

 

Those old 4.6's don't have cop's....it more than likely is moisture in the gas/bad gas.....

yea bad gas is what I was thinking. I guess I should just burn off the tank and see what happens. thanks for the input. Maybe I should stop filling it at half tank all the time and let it go empty. Its just a lot too fill up from empty..lol

 

Mine did that one time along time ago , and i put some fuel treatment in it , and it straightend up.

 

mines a 5.4 and it does that but it doesnt blink. the puter said it was EGR valves.

 

pull the codes... blinking CEL lights means misfire... how old is plugs and wires...

 

Well been driving for a couple of days now with no change. I guess I am gonna throw some plugs and wires at it. At least it is not supposed to snow. I will let you know what happens.
