fug that. going with the probe. should be here tuesday...if i get home early enough i might actually get to hook these fuggers up lol.

im pretty sure one controller can handle both of these fans with no problem. right now ive got a 20amp fuse hooked to the one fan that i do have hooked to a switch and it runs fine, infact i hooked the other one up to see if i would blow it and it still ran. the Derale kit says it can handle two fans with a max of 25amps each. i guess i could go get a new fuse for my meter and test amps.

 

the controller im using is good for up to 100amps at startup and 60 amps continuous.

 

post a link. thats crazy. i know these fans dont pull that much at start up. i heard they pull 45-50 at start up. the derale kit i got comes with a 40/60 amp relay and can handle two 25 continuous amp fans plus its got an AC overide switch and you can program the fan turn on temp.

 

im going to use mikes fan controller. he said i probably dont need the HD controller, but i would rather be safe than sorry.

holy **** lol $130 for a controller. im going to stick with my Derale unit i still gotta get you a fan when i get a chance. ive been swampped with work. been working 12-15 hour days man. loads of OT for me though that means more new toys. new gauges possibly next week or so.

 

yeah i guess its alot, but i dont want my engine overheating because i skimped on the controller ya know.

did you ever decide on what gauges you are going to run?

 

right. if youre worried about your fans stopping and you not knowing it just hook some small LED indicators up tot he power wire and ground wire on each fan, run it into the cab and mount them somewhere so they come on when the fans are on and go off when the fans go off.

i think im just going to go with the AutoMeter gauges. i like the look of them. theyre a little pricey but that means they wont **** up right? im going to go with oil temp and trans temp and then get the AutoMeter F250 overhead pod for the gauges. ill have to play with it to get it to fit but i think it will work no problem.

 

I'll pass on the LEDs. I got enough wires in my truck lol. Plus I can just watch my voltage drop on my livewire to see if they are workin

That pod only comes with two holes?

 

hahaha just a thought. you can hear the fans when they are on. especially the highspeed...although you are supercharged...not sure if youll be able to hear em.

they have two pods. one comes with two holes, the other three.
