Which tcase is in the 97 150s? I'd check myself but I'm working and my truck is at home and a google search was fruitless.

Salvage yard says 96-98 shared a t case and that 99-03 was a different case that won't work in my 97

yes and no, they will both bolt up to your trans, but the shift linkages and driveshafts are completely different. My money would be on you having a 4406.

Now that Im off work I crawled under there and your right, its a 4406. Thanks guys.

Im currently trying to check out the vacuum lines on the front diff and if they are all good than its time to get a new t case. Right now it appears as though the little shaft thing that the vacuum lines move is stuck.

U can spray it with wd40 amd work it with sum pliers and free it up .... Also the 4wd has 3 colored vac lines on the passenger side under the hood too , check them they tend to get real brittle

So far I've discovered the following...

Down at the dif, the actuator moves nice and smoothly. I lubed it just to be safe. It will engage 4wd, but when 2wd is selected, it doesn't move. I can pull it out to the 2wd position easily, but it wont go on its own. Pulled the hoses off and only the 4wd has suction. 2wd has nothing. So it's either a solenoid or a broken vac line. (I think)

Whether or not this could be the whole cause of my truck jumping out of 4wd I have no idea.....seems unlikely

I had a line broken close to a solenoid. Repairing it Didn't fix my problem though.

The line to switch the dif back to 2w was broke. I think with it being in 4w all the time like that it eff'd up my t case
