Mass Air Flow Sensor. This reads the amount of air PRE intake to determine the correct amount of Fuel to dump into each cylinder based on your current throttle requirements. It is located just after the intake box (on my 4.6L atleast) and requires 2 screws for removal. and there are no dumb questions except those you dont ask.
