I want to get a few opinions on this. It needs towed home because he hit a guardrail and bent the lower control arm. It left a dent as pictured below. I personally don't believe the frame has been damaged. But he's only asking $1000, so I want to see what you think.
id say take the wheel off look for obvious frame cracks bring a straight edge and check the frame on the non damaged side in the area and then mock up the same area with the striaght edge on the passenger side seems like if it bent the a arm the tabs or the area of the a arm should of also took some damge maybe even the strut tower might have moved
Yeah, I'm trying to decide before I go look at it since it's 3 hours away. He said the lower control arm is bent and causes the car to pull a lot to the right. Also said it will need a strut soon, so I'd assumme you are right about the strut tower.
im saying if the strut "needs replaced soon" and the a arms bent then the frame prolly took some to but yes the pulling will be the a arm and the strut being out of place
Ok just making sure I understood. Not sure what he meant about the strut, I asked him and he said it could use one. I keep telling myself that the control arm and the fender took the brunt of the force, but I also realize I'm most likely in denial. Lol
if it bent the a arm u can only assume the mounting brackets are also bent... i cant imagine those tabs from the frame didnt move if the a arm bent and ud have to get those back straight 100percent or your tire wear is gonna suck
Yeah..sounds like loads of fun. He just told me that he had a mechanic check it and he said the frame is fine. Also said he drove it home after hitting the guard rail.
