well i cleared the code off and it aint come back so im not going to worry about it for now. but if a cat is messed up i need to be able to figure out which ones to chop off lol
and you dont have to throw a bunch of money at it, if its a cat 50 maybe 75 bucks for a new cat do both to be safe. if one goes out the second one isnt far behind but what ever you do dont take it to the dealship for the cats they ask somewhere between $1,000 - $1,300 for each, if you take it to a muffler you can get both done for less $1,000. i just know id rather have working stuff on my truck so it runs good and not have fake sensors lieing to the computer.
and for sure id buy the cats myself. i have a friend who can probably get me magnaflow 94106 hi flows for 50 apiece. The exhaust guy i go to probably wont charge over 100 to weld them in im thinking.
that explains why i dont have pre cats lol. as far as that goes its probably the main cat but id have to test the sensors to be sure. get a shop to test the oxygen sensors.
so my question is, currently the rear o2 is in the middle of the cat (both sides). you're saying to delete the cat, and just weld in a straight pipe w/ a bung for the o2 and be done right? that will allow us to pass emissions test still right? cuz we get tested in Texas (damn enviro huggin hippies in Austin)
