Pity7700 Build thread, why not? pic heavy!

well my alternator took a **** on me this morning on the way in to work. i got less than halfway there and it cut out. had my mom come give me a jump so i could get home. mother ****er cut out on me the second i pulled out of the subdivision that i pulled into when it died. i jumped it a second time and let it charge for a couple minutes. i floored it home i flew home doing 80mph to keep the voltage up.

got a new alternator for $120, my buddy cut me a huge deal on it. it would have been $200+ i gotta get me wire ASAP

hells yea, it pays to know people man. ive got the battery charging right now. i got a chance to clean the truck

also went and got an estimate from my local ford dealer to have my rocker replaced. they priced it at $875 that didnt include the paint, i told them i would do that. no way im paying them that much money lol im going to attempt to do that **** myself.

 

hope that wire is working good for you so far josh cause im ordering the same ****. 5ft spool of red cadence and 7 ft spool of black from amazon.

 

yeah they seemed to help. my voltage doesnt drop as much when the fans kick on. about .06 votls, but i think i need to do the positive wire to really see a huge difference.

 

awesome. thanks josh. my wire will be here tomorrow. delivery date was like july 5th but i looked yesterday and my package is in Allen Park (20 minutes away) im pumped. my voltage is still dropping to like 13.9-14.1 and now my RPMs are jumping every now and then when im at idle. possible coil going bad?

 

whats your voltage normally at when the fans are not on?


im sometimes around 13.88, but when the fans kick on it drops to around 13.82.


but before i did the wire upgrade my voltage would drop to 13.6 or so with the fans.

 

14.4-14.6. i can turn one on and it will drop to maybe 14.3. i think the reason it drops so much is cause i have the radio on with my subs. i will say if i have the radio on and one of the fans on along with the A/C the voltage stays at 14V.

 

weird, mine will fluctuate during the day, it goes from a high of 14.3 to a low of 13.8, no matter if there is a load or not.

but when driving down the road, it stays a constant 14.0
