Hey all, new here, just bought my 1994 Flareside and something has come up The truck runs great etc for having 249,889 miles but the front end has a prob and I have nailed it The I beam mount (holds the drivers side wheel assembly-and mount is located on passenger side) has rusted through in half, and that wheel has a full 8" of play and the mount is free from the frame. (the mount has 5 bolt holes- two under the motor, two up front, and one holding the i beam and its' bushing) I welded the mount into 1 piece so I can move it safely, but need to find a replacement mount. and I haven't had ANY luck with google, bing or any other search engine. I looked through all of Ford Parts direct and Nada. Anyone have a clue where I can find one new? This is all that is holding me up from driving it. here is a pic of her.
Thanks for the responses guys, found a new bracket in LMC. $130 I would go the junkyard route but the ones I looked at had a crack forming just where mine was missing. Seems to be a normal thing on the high milers Since I don't want to open another thread, do any of you guys have your truck kinda vibrate when you let off the gas going down a hill? I am thinking that the front end being in the state it's in (no alignment, tires need properly balanced, and tires up front are near bald) has something to do with it. So far, just needs an oil change, tires, alternator, and some minor front end tlc Hope this ford lives up to the reputation that people tell me. My dad said the ford trannies just do that (all of my other cars have been chevys- 1983 s10-1984 K10-1996 Monte Carlo)
